I consider my practise the beginning of an expanded web of research into objects and their histories, which examines and dynamically dips in and out of research topics, thinks ethnographically, and refuses permanent focal points in favour of constantly flowing and expanding production of knowledge and new ways of seeing. I work across oil painting, writing, printing, video, and installation to create objects and visions which engage with cultural histories and mythologies. Rather than treating them as individual media within their own hermetically sealed categories, I aim for a practise and research that is never fully resolved, which always leaks and questions that which surrounds it. I am particularly interested in the interaction of biological and cybernetic processes with spirituality, and invoke objects such as figs, nuclear waste, asbestos, salmon, eastern Christian spirituality, nationality, diaspora and language, and fossils, to think about liveable and apocalyptic futures.
