Combining photography and text, I aim to use my art to convey a particular message or pose a question to the viewer. As an artist, I am constantly exploring the ways in which language and imagery intersect and inform one another.

This project delves into the significance of women wearing suits throughout history and how it has symbolic connotations. I aim to combine current and past ideas about the suit, using female models to convey a message of female empowerment. My photography is heavily influenced by fashion and editorials seen in magazines. When editing my images, I work predominantly in black and white as I find that the emotion within an image becomes heightened when colour is retracted subsequently forcing the viewer to focus on the form, shape, and tones.

In my designs, I draw inspiration from a range of sources including scrapped newspaper articles, zines from the 80s, and flyers and prints that can be seen on the buildings in London and Leeds. Limiting myself to basic resources such as a photocopier, plain paper, and biro within my practice, allows me to focus on the essence of the image and the message I am trying to convey rather than the materials themselves.
